Biden will issue an announcement allowing the United States to import solar panels from Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam for two years without being affected by tariffs, sources said.

News, June 6 A shares photovoltaic plate rose sharply, Saiwu Technology, Jijia Weichuang and other trading limit. Vike net pv believes that although this information has not been verified, but is not groundless.

Before his election victory, Biden had repeatedly stressed the importance of developing renewable energy. After taking office, he quickly returned to the Paris Agreement and expressed his determination to support renewable energy. But since then, the speed of development has slowed down rapidly, and even appeared to "reverse the trend"

On March 28, the US Department of Commerce said it would investigate whether imports of solar panels from Four Southeast Asian countries (Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam) violated trade protection laws.

Many U.S. solar installers have stayed on the sidelines, dealing a blow to the U.S. solar industry because of the potential 240% retroactive tariffs if the four southeast Asian countries are found to have anti-dumping cases. The investigation has cost thousands of jobs and threatened nearly 80% of U.S. solar projects.

But the news comes as it has not led to a "Renaissance" of us pv companies and will affect US renewable energy goals in the long term. If this news is true, it is also a major boon to the U.S. photovoltaic industry
