Why people choose solar lithium battery more than lead acid battery while they are both energy storage batteries? Lithium battery is a controllable, pollution-free energy storage battery. With the increasing maturity of lithium battery technology, its capacity, life span and application scope have been much improved.
(1). Lithium battery
There is no doubt that lithium battery is better than lead acid battery in all aspects of performance. At present, the common used lithium iron phosphate battery does not have memory effect like lead acid battery; its storage capacity can still reach 85% even after more than 1600 times of charging. Compared with lead acid batteries, lithium batteries have the advantages of lightness, large capacity and long service life.
(2). Lead acid battery
The electrodes of lead acid battery are mainly made of lead and oxide, and the electrolyte is sulfuric acid. When lead acid battery is in the state of charge, the main component of the positive electrode is lead dioxide, and the main component of the negative electrode is lead. When in discharge state, the main components of both anode and cathode are lead sulfate. The storage capacity of lead acid batteries will be greatly reduced after more than 500 overlaps due to memory effect.

△Lithium battery is small in size and light in weight, saving time and effort
For example, in general the first choice of solar street lamps is integrated street lamps. If the lead-acid battery pack is used, it needs to be buried in the underground around the lamp pole and placed in the buried box. But if the lithium battery is used, with its lighter weight, it can be hung to the back side of the battery panel, saving time and effort.
△Lithium batteries are less polluting than lead-acid batteries and are environmentally friendly
As we all know that the service life of lead acid batteries is short, even though it is cheap, it may have to be replaced once a year, which will greatly increase the pollution to the environment. What’s more, lead-acid batteries are inherently more polluting than lithium batteries, which can continue to cause environmental damage if replaced all the time. Lithium batteries are clean, while lead acid batteries are contaminated with the heavy metal lead.

Now lithium batteries have become more and more intelligent, and the function is more and more perfect. Today's lithium batteries can be adjusted according to the user's battery needs and service time. Many lithium batteries can be installed with a BMS management system, which can check the status of the battery in real time on the phone, the BMS management system can also autonomously detect the current and voltage of the battery and automatically adjust if there is abnormal situation.
△Lithium battery has a longer service life
The annual loss of lead acid battery is relatively high, and usually the lead acid battery needs to be replaced once a year or two. The service life of lithium battery is around 3-5 years, and its quality can be guaranteed for three years in general. The lead acid batteries have a cycle life of around 300 times, while for the lithium iron phosphate battery, the 3C cycle life reached more than 800 times.
△Lithium batteries are safer, no memory effect
Lead acid batteries are easier than lithium batteries for water to inflow. And the lead acid battery is with memory, if charge when not fully discharged will produce memory effect and affect the service life. Lithium batteries have no memory and can be recharged at any time. It's safer and more reassuring to use. Lithium iron phosphate has been rigorously tested for safety and will not explode even in a violent crash.
△Lithium batteries have high energy density
Lithium batteries have a high energy storage density, which now reaches 460-600Wh/kg, that is about 6-7 times of lead acid batteries. This will better store energy for solar power systems.
△Lithium batteries are very resistant to high temperature
In the high temperature outdoor environment, batteries have higher requirements on temperature. The thermal peak of lithium iron phosphate battery can reach 350~500℃, and can be used in the environment of -20℃ to 60℃.
